Description:   Pyramidal loomweight with rectangular section. Two suspension holes pierced through the broader sides. Slight beveling on all edges. Flat base with elliptical sides. Shape as MF 4900 (Corinth XII, p. 171, no. 1196, pl. 76).
Writing:   stamp. Oval stamp above bevel on pierced side, H. 0.015, W. 0.011. In shallow relief, partially illegible figural scene, satyr or centaur(?), arms extending above and crossed over his head, frontal torso bent at right angle to body in profile, above kantharos.
Material:   Fine pale yellow clay, well fused, with nodules of pink-firing clay, rare v. large rounded mudstone, frequent medium to v. large subrounded dark brown to black, and rare rounded white inclusions .
Munsell Color:   5Y 8/3 (pale yellow)
Condition:   Complete or intact. Intact, fine cracks on surface, chips missing from back side.
Manufacture:   HM by compressing and polishing the approximate shape, then pierced suspension holes with stylus. Burnished after dried leather hard.
