Description:   Circular lead seal. Obverse: Alexios Komninos, standing frontal, wears a crown with tassles falling on either side of his head down to the level of his chin. He holds a globus cruciger in his left hand. Reverse: Christ frontal, seated on a throne. Christ holds a bible in his left hand and his right hand is folded across his chest. Dots delineate the throne in the background. The seal has thin raised beaded border. Similar to Ioanna Koltsida-Makri, Byzantina Molibdoboulla (Athens 1996), pp. 25-26, pls. 2-4.
Writing:   stamp. Five greek letters appear on the obverse ? O T T ? , running along perimeter, to the left of Alexios.
Material:   Lead
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving almost whole seal. Side with Jesus Christ, 95% of original surface with excellent detail. Side with Alexios more weathered, 40% of original surface preserved.
