Description: | Decorative fitting, probably from a wooden chest or door. Fitting is roughly circular, with a semi-circular tongue projecting outwards at bottom, probably with corresponding semi-circular tongue projecting outwards at top. Outer edges of fitting incised with radiating lines. Small iron nail with round head used for affixing the fitting preserved in place on right; corresponding nail missing on left. In center, four small holes, roughly forming a square, encompass a cut out decorative cross. | |
