Description:   Terracotta figurine of seated satyr, mouldmade head on a handmade body, head flat on the back, with large animal ears, bulging oval eyes with heavy, arched brows, small, snub nose, mouth smiling with thick lips, moustache drooping over broad, projecting beard; rt. arm extended up and forward with open hand, lt. arm akimbo with hand on waist, mitten-shaped hands with thumb separate, body slender and roughly modelled, legs bent, spread wide apart, male genitals pronounced, tail-like rear support. Face similar to Corinth XV.2, pp. 142-143, no. XIX.5, pl. 29.
Decoration:   Self-slipped, white slip overall all; yellow paint all over head and body, red paint on face.
Mythology:   Satyr
Material:   Fine light red clay with rare medium white and red inclusions and voids.
Munsell Color:   Clay: 2.5YR7/8 (light red), Self-slip: 5YR 7/6 (reddish yellow)
Condition:   Missing parts. Two joining frgts. preserving all of figurine except for rt. ear, tip of beard, fingers of rt. hand, rt. foot, lower lt. leg and foot, tail. Traces of red and yellow paint, white slip worn off.
