Description:   Gemstone, oval-shaped, smooth all around, flat front and back, sides tapered.
Decoration:   Engraving depicts Artemis riding a deer, facing lt, rt arm behind her head, holding a shaft, either grasping the handle of a sword or pulling an arrow from her quiver; lt hand holding deer's reins. Artemis wears Amazonian 3/4 length tunic, folds going down in 2 sections of 6, cape flowing behind her, hair tied up above her head. Deer rearing up on its hind legs, thick muzzle, two long pointed ears, bushy tail, and two prominent antlers rising slightly higher than the top of Artemis' head. For the type of Artemis riding a deer, cf. LIMC, Artemis 695 (coin of Marcus Aurelius 161-180AC, and Macrinus 217-218AC, from Ephesus), Diana 130 (lamp from Carthage dated 2nd-3rd c.
