Description:   Terracotta lion figurine with deeply grooved vertical mane locks with horizontal slashes, rounded right ear, low set projecting brows with vertical groove down center of forehead, square nose with flaring nostrils, shallow wrinkles under eyes, four vertical slashes below nose. Shallow grooves in center of eyeballs. Smoothed concave underside.
Decoration:   White paint over entire surface, with red paint in remaining right ear and in eye grooves.
Material:   Fine pale pinkish-brown clay.
Munsell Color:   7.5YR 7/4 (pink)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving part of mane, right ear, eyes, nose, upper mouth of lion. White slip mostly worn, faint traces of red paint on ear and eyes.
