Description: | Handmade terracotta figurine of horse and rider. Horse has long triangular head with pinched muzzle, roughly indicated eyes and nostrils. Ears or mane upright at top of head. Neck short and thick. Horse legs thick and tapering. Rider crudely modelled, seated on back of horse at back of neck, grasping neck at middle. Flattened pellets for arms, legs of rider. Rider perhaps wears hat (crudely modelled). Indications of modeller's fingerprints throughout. Similar to MF-1971-234 and MF-1990-45. | |
