Description:   Small bronze pendant cross with shaft and arms circular in section and small spherical knobs at ends. Suspension ring at top with bronze ring attached. All wrapped in finely woven cloth (simple weave) adhered to sherd of coarse pottery. Similar to MF-2871 (Davidson 1952, Corinth 12, cat. 2075) and MF-8222 (Davidson 1952, Corinth 12, cat. 2076).
Decoration:   Engraved saltire at central point on both back and front.
Material:   Bronze, cloth.
Condition:   Missing parts. Cross complete, bronze ring about 1/2 preserved, traces of fine cloth underneath cross, pottery body sherd.
Period:   Late Byzantine (1059-1210 AD)
Chronology:   10th-11th c., based on comparanda in Corinth 12
