Description:   Bronze instrument, consisting of round handle, upper 3/4 decorated with 2 reels, half bead, 2 reels, 1 bead, 3 reels, 1 bead and 1 reel, 1 bead, 3 reels, then plain shaft. Below this is a small square plate, then a narrow flat band, followed by a long flat blade with straight tip. End of blade split slightly from side to side.
Material:   Bronze.
Condition:   Missing parts. Intact except for chipped-off ends of split blade. Very slightly bent from vertical.
Dimensions Actual:   L00.102 L00.037 (blade) W00.0047 (blade) D00.002 (handle)
Period:   Middle Byzantine (802-1058 AD)
Chronology:   Middle Byzantine? At least 2nd half 10th c.
