Description:   Standing draped female, lt. buttock protrudesslightly farther than rt., as if rt. leg advanced.Rt. arm at side holding fold of drapery, left upperarm at side, rt. holds owl at breast. Hair falls insolid mass in back with fine wavy grooves on surface.Two wavy forelocks over each shoulder. Wears chiton,rendered by fine wavy diagonal incisions, plainneck band; buttoned sleeves. Diagonal himation hungfrom lt. shoulder with zigzag folds on cross-band;drapery falls in front in three vertical masses ofstacked zigzag folds; in back, one central mass withshallow catenaries curving out from folds to sides ofbody. Three long bunched folds hang down back of lt.arm.Worked with flat chisel; faint rasping on drapery, back; no drill except possibly drill or bull-nose chisel separating rt. lower arm from side. Material:   White fine-crystalled marble.
Condition:   Fragment. Torso from neck to hips; joins: three in all, torso from neck to hips, both arms; all of owl but beak. Surface largely discolored.
