Description:   Small-scale head, sex uncertain, of figure with hair parted in middle, pulled back from face in waves and falling to at least base of ears, probably shoulders. Hair over back of head rendered by rows of coarse point strokes. Projecting slightly from top of head is small round headdress or bolster (D00.068), ca. level with top of head in front, flat on top with chisel scratches. Low, roughly triangular forehead, face rather flat. Shallow-set eyes with high-arching upper lid which overlaps nearly straight lower lid at outer corner.
Material:   Very fine-crystalled grayish-white marble.
Condition:   Fragment. Sigle frgt., upper half of head, base of polos; face battered, preserving most of both eyes, inner corners damaged. Incrustation on all surfaces, including break.
