Description:   Probable statue support in form of tree trunkdecorated on front half with vine and grapeclusters relief; simulated broken stem on frontcenter; some details of tree trunk surface onlower left side. Drill marks on leaves and grapeclusters; some detail on vine branches and leavesscratched in with fine point; back roughly finishedwith flat chisel. Rests on low plinth with verticalface.
Material:   Coarse-crystalled Thasian marble
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., broken top; ht. of plinth preserved,but nearly all faces broken away. Parts of reliefchipped; small chunk missing from lower back;surface weathered and discolored.
