Description:   Standing female figure, c. life-size; weight on l. leg; r. leg bent and set slightly back; r. arm bent with r. hand extended forward about breast level; l. arm bent slightly; l. hand extended forward and down at about hip level; wears chiton, visible at neck and r. breast; over it, Greek himation covers both shoulders; himation hangs straight down from l. shoulder, around r. shoulder, crossing body horizontally under r. forearm, breasts, held between body and l. upper arm; falls down over l. forearm with ends reaching to about mid-thigh level at side; rounded lines of drapery modelling r. leg; long diagonal folds from l. hip to r. calf; piece of neck from inserted head found with body (not a tight fit); rasp marks visible; drill work in folds; back roughly worked, flat chisel marks visible; one of a type with 5 other known copies, differing slightly in position of hands; additional statues show a similar type; pose with both arms extended suggests attitude of prayer; original statue probably late 4th century BC; Corinth copy probably used for a portrait. According to Brown 2017, perhaps representing Regilla in Late Antiquity?
Material:   Fine-crystalled white marble
Condition:   Missing parts. Complete from shoulders to lower legs. Lacks head (inserted), both hands (dowelled on);broken off below rt. knee, lt. lower leg.
