Description:   Head of Sphinx or Nike with rows of wavy locks drawn horizontally from part. Locks make deep scallops, each lightly incised for strands of hair. Above, low stephane, triangular in section with flat face, flat on top, hollow in back.
Decoration:   Matt pale pinkish tan paint on hair (10YR 7/3). Stephane: reserved with 2 thin bands along bottom, above which a lotus-palmette chain. Matt black scrolls and bits of lotus and palmette petals appear drooping. Upper band and floral chain browner color, lower band thicker.
Material:   Greenish buff clay with moderate amount fine to coarser (to 3mm) gray inclusions, thin fine surface slip. Fired yellow buff out, to pale pink core, to blue-white in.
Munsell Color:   Near 2.5Y 8/3 surface
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving central part to proper right, with two locks of hair, broken below, both ends. Face chipped.
