Description:   Curved wall leads up to straight vertical handle, which is pierced. Rim is flat, with nozzle slightly raised.
Decoration:   Type XXVII lamp. Rim is plain with the remains of one rectangular panel to the right of the figural scene. Handle has two grooves. Two circular indentations on either side of nozzle. Discus is separated from rim by two sharp grooves. Within discus, scene of gladiatorial combat: on left, a helmeted and armored gladiator faces right. In his right hand he holds a sword, and with his left thrusts forward a rectangular shield. Below him, to the right, crouches a second gladiator, shield at his side.
Material:   soft clay with few small white inclusions
Munsell Color:   7.5YR 7/4 (pink)
Condition:   Fragment. One fragment preserves all of discus, most of rim, entire handle, and part of nozzle. Unglazed.
