Description: | Fragment of handmade terracotta plaque preserving the image of a horse and rider in very low relief, with horse's head outlined with lightly incised lines; mane short and curved over neck with undulating relief indicating hair, eye large and round, neck arched, reins curving from muzzle to a point over the withers. Plaque boundary extends beyond horse outline above neck, follows horse outline along top of head and a small opening in plaque demarcates cheek and neck of horse from reins. Back of plaque flat, but still rough. See also KT 40-4: though the relief is higher on KT 40-4, the shape of the horse's head is similar. | |
