Description:   Handmade pine cone or foliage? At base is rounded knob pierced with hole. Conical shape preserved above knob; three vertical ridges with diagonal ridges radiating up from central ridge (three stalks with branching needles or fronds) made from a single layer of clay; within these the beginning of second series of vertical and diagonal ridges, made from separate layer of clay pressed inside the initial layer and extending beyond this initial layer. Small plug of clay inside both layers may have indicated the base of a third layer. Hole extends through entire object, through this clay plug.
Decoration:   White slip, blue paint.
Material:   Fine reddish yellow clay, with rare, subrounded, spherical, large, black inclusions.
Munsell Color:   7.5YR 7/6 (reddish yellow)
Condition:   Fragment. Two fragments, tip mended and RIP; broken at top. Patches of white slip, flecks of applied blue paint, preserved.
