Description:   Coarse ware (class D) according to Blegen (Zygouries). Pithos. Stands on small, well-shaped raised base. Flat rim, no handles but rather more than two thirds of the way up from the bottom are four large bosses, not very symmetrically spaced around the pithos. These bosses are roughly made and no doubt facilitate the lifting of the pithos by preventing a rope from slipping when tied around the body.

Condition:   Complete or intact. Some bits of body and rim missing, RIP
Dimensions Actual:   H: 0.91; Max D: 0.66; Base D: 0.155; Rim W: 0.04; Rim D: 0.41; Bosses project 0.025 to 0.03; Boss D: 0.05 to 0.06.
