Excavations produced wasters (accidentally melted ceramics) of pottery made from the white marl clay underlying the limestone bedrock. Moulds indicate that the potters also made figurines, painted plaques, and votive shields. Later excavators found two stelai shrines.","Corinthia | Ancient Corinth | Ancient Corinth, West | Potters' Quarter | Potters' Quarter","Corinth","Corinth:Image:slide 1076::/Corinth/Photos/slides/1000-1999/sl1076.jpg::1800::1217","Corinth:Monument:Potters' Quarter","" "","","","","Anaploga","","Monument","","Anaploga was the old name of the hamlet one kilometer southwest of the main archaeological site. One of these exposed a Roman house with ornate later 1st or 2nd century A.D. mosaic floors now on display in the museum at Corinth. Another excavation revealed a small cemetery and an inspection hole that opened onto over 700 meters of underground water channels. One of the wells excavated contained a large quantity of Early, Middle and Late Corinthian pottery (early 7th to mid-6th century B.C.), much of it restorable.","Corinthia | Ancient Corinth | Ancient Corinth, West | Anaploga | Anaploga Sanctuary","Corinth","Corinth:Drawing:270 021::/Corinth/Architectural_Plans/270_Anaploga_Sanctuary/270_021.jpg::1800::1247","Corinth:Monument:Anaploga Sanctuary","" "","","","","City Wall west","","Monument","","","Corinthia | Ancient Corinth | Ancient Corinth, West | City Wall | City Wall west","Corinth","Corinth:Image:bw 3243::/Corinth/Photos/negatives/3000-3999/3243_gp.jpg::1800::1339","Corinth:Monument:City Wall west","" "","","","","Grava","","Monument","","Roman Kiln located in the area of Kokkinovrysi. The spring is just outside the line of the ancient wall beside a road running westwards from the city. In 1962 and 1963 a rescue excavation uncovered a small sanctuary with a stele shrine. A favissa (pit) contained numerous terracotta figurines representing a ring dance around a central figure playing the flute. The shrine was probably dedicated to the nymphs and its history of use ran from at least the 7th until the late 4th century B.C. ; ; To the east of the spring are the remains of a potters’ kiln and to the west is the so-called “Shear Villa.” The villa was excavated in 1925 by T. L. Shear and contained the mosaics now displayed in the museum. One shows a herdsman playing his flute in the shade of a tree as his cattle graze at the foot of a hill. Another is circular with a central head of Dionysus.","Corinthia | Ancient Corinth | Ancient Corinth, West | Kokkinovrysi","Corinth","Corinth:Drawing:182 004::/Corinth/Architectural_Plans/182_Kokkinovrysi/182_004.jpg::0::0","Corinth:Monument:Kokkinovrysi","" "","","","","Old_Shear Excavations ?","","Monument","","","Corinthia | Ancient Corinth | Ancient Corinth, West | Kokkinovrysi | North Cemetery | Theater | Shear Excavations | Old_Shear Excavations ?","Corinth","","Corinth:Monument:Old_Shear Excavations ?",""
