Description:   Basin. Flattened rim, shallow shape (basin?); single preserved large horizontal strap handle with top at level of rim.
Decoration:   Both interior and exterior surfaces are highly polished and lustrous, although they are speckled with the white of the tempering grit. Thin horizontal zigzag in intermittent groups on top of rim; broad horizontal zig zag on back of handle ending at handle base, broad horizontal zigzag below rim out; part of broader wavy band or zig zag on non-joining body sherd (from other part of vase?)
Material:   Coarse clay containing a massive amount of generally white limestone (?) grit.
Munsell Color:   Fracture: grey/dark grey, reddening by surface of exterior and interior; interior surface: 2.5 YR 4-5/8 (red); exterior surface: mottled varying from 2.5 YR 4-5/8 (red) through 7.5 YR 5/4 (brown) to gray
Condition:   Fragment. 6 sherds mended into 4 non-joining fragments. Profile preserved only at rim and just below, including one horizontal strap handle. Very small percentage of total vase preserved.
