Description:   Jar with spherical body, short vertical collar, vertical slightly bevelled lip. Shape as Pullen 2011, NVAP 1, cat. 584, pp. 424-425, fig. 5.111.
Decoration:   Red-slipped overall exterior. Incised herringbone pattern at base of collar neck. Row of stamped concentric circles on shoulder, about 0.03m below herringbone. Second row of circles approx. 0.04 m below first row. For herringbone, cf. Pullen 2011, NVAP 1, cat. 153, p. 128, fig. 3.32.
Material:   Coarse red clay with gray core, with frequent black, red, and gray medium to very large rounded and angular spherical and tabular inclusions, and gold and silver mica.
Munsell Color:   Surface: 2.5YR 4/6 (red); Core: 5YR 5/1 (gray)
Condition:   Fragment. Thirteen joining frgts, 8 from 538, rest from 542. RIP. Part of the upper body and small part of rim. Internal and external surfaces worn. Granular and at some parts smoother breaks. Traces of burning on interior.
